Six youngsters have been nominated by US Biathlon for spots on the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) team for Lausanne.
The selections were made following the completion of the final two qualification events in Jericho, on August 17 and 18.
The women’s nominations are Kaisa Bosek, Maja Lapkass and Lexie Madigan, while the men’s selections are Etienne Bordes, Van Ledger and Cale Woods.
The nominations will be put forward to the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, which will formally name the American team to compete at Lausanne 2020 later this year.
The event, from January 9 to 22, is open to athletes age 15 to 18.
The biathlon qualification featured eight races over the past nine months – six on snow and two on roller skis.
Each athlete counted his or her best four of eight results, with a maximum of one roller ski result.
